Our pillars

Training

Certified skill-building programmes reaching trainers, workers and caregivers.

Community

Outreach, peer networks and intergenerational support that no one walks alone.

Policy

Advocacy for legal recognition and a national framework for caregiving in India.

Community · Pillar 3

Caregiver Support Circles

Caregiving can be profoundly isolating. Support Circles create a safe, facilitated space — in person and online — where caregivers can speak honestly, find solidarity and get practical help from people who understand exactly what they are going through.

  • Monthly in-person and online sessions
  • Facilitated by trained peer supporters
  • Topics: burnout, grief, practical care challenges
  • Referrals to counselling and respite services

Policy · Pillar 4

Making caregiving visible in policy

India has no national caregiver policy. CAS is working to change that. Through direct representation at national and international forums, research publications and strategic legal partnerships, we are building the evidence base and the political will for a systemic response.

  • WHO Civil Society Commission member 2025–27
  • Represented at national and international health forums
  • International Stakeholder Consultation on Long-term Care Law (with NLU Jodhpur)
  • Research and white papers on caregiver burden
