CareAsha — India's first AI-enabled caregiver app
CareAsha puts expert caregiving guidance directly into the hands of family caregivers — wherever they are, whatever time it is. Built specifically for India's informal caregiving context, it combines AI-guided support, health monitoring and a peer community in one accessible platform.
From tracking a parent's blood pressure to managing your own burnout as a caregiver, CareAsha is designed to be the always-on companion that families never had before.

ACMERI–ASHA Care Skill Institute
A structured, certified skills institute designed to train community health workers and caregivers in evidence-based care practices. Through a combination of clinical curriculum and practical assessment, the institute builds competence at scale — across geographies and languages.

The caregiving summer camp
A week of school holidays spent learning how to care. Run by the ACMERI–ASHA Care Skill Institute, the camp takes children through the practical and emotional side of looking after an older person — and then takes them to meet some.

We build the workforce that builds caregivers — 200+ trainers certified across India, Nepal & Indonesia. The ToT programme creates a sustainable, scalable pipeline of skilled educators who can carry caregiving knowledge deep into their own communities.

Elders Care Elders
A unique peer-mentorship model where older adults support those currently in caregiving journeys — 200+ elders certified as Community Care Support Persons. Built on the insight that lived experience is itself a powerful form of expertise, this programme creates intergenerational bonds and expands access to practical help.

Upchar Sang Shiksha
“Where there is treatment, there is also education.” A long hospital stay should not cost a child a year of school. Upchar Sang Shiksha brings the classroom onto the children's ward at Umaid Hospital, Jodhpur — so that treatment and learning carry on side by side.
- Daily bedside classes on the paediatric ward, 4–6 pm
- For clinically stable children aged 4 to 14, taught at their own class level
- Story books, picture books, comics and stationery provided free
- Eases the fear and boredom of a hospital stay and aids recovery

Caregiver Support Circles
Caregiving can be profoundly isolating. Support Circles create a safe, facilitated space — in person and online — where caregivers can speak honestly, find solidarity and get practical help from people who understand exactly what they are going through.

Making caregiving visible in policy
India has no national caregiver policy. CAS is working to change that. Through direct representation at national and international forums, research publications and strategic legal partnerships, we are building the evidence base and the political will for a systemic response.
